Thought I would go ahead & send out this blog, since Capt. Bob is busy cleaning the boat, as usual!  We will update everyone on the possible change in plans for our trip, on the next blog.  For now, take care.

Thursday, February 16

This morning we had to take Misty into the Vets office to have some surgery done to remove some lumps on her stomach & to get her teeth cleaned.  Since she will need to have her stitches removed in a week, our plans have changed regarding our next destination.  As it stands right now, we won't be departing Marco Island until Friday, February 24, & will be heading directly to Hawk Cey, instead of going to Key West.  So those of you who were thinking of hooking up in Key West, we are going to see if we can rent a car at Hawk Cey & drive to Key West & meet you for dinner at some point while you are in Florida.

Back to Misty, she is not a happy camper, as you can see from this picture.  She has to wear this stupid collar so she can't lick her stitches!  She also cannot have any food until 8PM tonight, which means she has not eaten since last night, when she had her last meal at a10PM!  My poor baby!

Later that evening, we decided to walk to one of Marco's "best kept secrets", regarding great restaurants - Maxime's Bistrot. This is a must if you come to Marco, the food was wonderful, as was the ambiance, & our darling, sweet, funny waitress Robin! By evenings end, Robin & I have come up with a fabulous new wine which we are planning to market around the world, someday! We call it R & B - 'A swirl of Dry * A swirl of Sweet' - the Perfect Treat!

Wednesday, February 15

A friend of Pat's came into Marco for lunch & to visit. Ken's last name is also 'Long', which we all found quite interesting, considering Pat's maiden name was also 'Long'. It is such a small world, don't ya know! We had a very enjoyable day & hope we can get together again before we leave Marco.

We headed for Marco Island. We are staying at the Esplanade Marina, which is only about 1 mile from where Bob's mom, Pat, is staying in a condo she has been renting for several years.  Again, we have enjoyed the most beautiful sunsets everywhere we've stopped. Marco Island did not disappoint. This shot I took from the boat.

  1. Thanks for the update, Bonnie! I am intrigued by the Robin/Bonnie blend, but note that the pic of you two is a bit blurred. Was Captain Bob taking the pic and enjoying the blend too?
