Another beautiful day here in Hawk Cay!  So far, both days have provided quite a parade of 'go fast boats' coming into the marina.  There was plenty to look at, both for the Capt. & the Admiral.  Lot's of 'hot' bods getting off these beauties!

They sit on this guy's boat all day long, he's not going to be a happy camper when he returns, if you get my drift!

Now, this is a first! What new toy will they come up with next! I found out how they paid for this baby - it costs $435 for a 30 minute joy ride!!!! WOW  It doesn't look like THAT much fun!

Thursday, February 23

Departed Marco Island at 7AM, headed for the Gulf for a 7-8 hr. trip.  Beautiful, calm ride, as you can see from Misty's relaxed state.  She even used her 'collar' to shade her eyes from the sun!  This trip took us along the Everglades National Park System into Florida Bay.  Capt Bob had set about 6 way points to guide us through the Bay with depths of only 7-9 feet to a narrow cut, kown as the Yacht Channel that gave us access to the Five Mile Bridge & the east side of the Keys.  Began to appreciate why he charted this trip on the GPS and on our paper charts, not sure he was convinced he had not routed us over a sand bar.  This route was shorter than going to the Seven Mile Bridge and we received some good local advice from several boaters at Marco who we had meet in Sarasota.

Arrived at Hawk Cay Marina around 4PM (including checking out/calling Performance Diesel about a transmission alarm that turned out to be a bad sending unit, I hope).  The currents are extremely strong, making docking very tricky.  Tomorrow we will tour the facilities which are quite extensive.  As we came into the marina, we passed two closed-in water areas, which held trained dolphins entertaining several guests.  I have not seen that since we stayed at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas.
